This comprehensive one-month course invites participants to delve into the creative realm of graphic narratives through the medium of comics. Our exploration begins with a deconstruction of the comic format and an analysis of its unique capacity to convey narratives that transcend traditional storytelling methods. This will be followed by a reinterpretation of narrative structures and a study on how comics can provide innovative perspectives on narrative delivery.

This class is aimed at people who have already taken our introductory graphic novel course or artists who have experience with drawing or comics.

Periodic reflection sessions have been incorporated into the course structure to provide participants with constructive feedback, fostering a nurturing and positive learning environment. The course also includes a section on the creation of cover pages to enhance the visual appeal of your comics. As a culmination of the learning journey, each participant will have crafted a 20-30 page book, which will be professionally bound and printed under the guidance of our course leader, Sheikha.
